About Chiang Mai Highlands Golf Resort

Set in the foothills east of Chiang Mai, Chiangmai Highlands Golf and Spa Resort features a magnificent 27-hole championship golf course, providing golfers with the additional pleasure of magnificent mountain views on every hole. Designed by award winning architects Schmidt-Curley Golf Design, in its infancy Chiang Mai Highlands was heralded by Asian Golf Monthly as one of the Best New Courses in Asia and is now regularly voted among the top 10 courses to play in Thailand.

The course features paspalum fairways and tif eagle greens, which translate to greener fairways and faster, as well as more consistent greens for the golfer. The bunker styles are typical of a Schmidt-Curley design, deep and severely penalizing to errant shots but beautiful to the golfer’s eye especially early in the morning and late in the afternoon. The greens are firm and fast, and many greens slope away from the fairway, putting more emphasis on strategy and local knowledge.

The approach areas around green complexes often feature closely mown areas giving the golfer many options of playing either a chip-and-run, pitch shot or even putting the ball up onto the green surface. Imagination is a terrific asset when trying to get up and down at Chiang Mai Highlands.

The golfing experience starts with the downhill hole 1. Magnificent views of the entire course and the mountain skyline are evident in the background. After the 'inviting' 1st hole, the golf course effortlessly flows along, gaining strength, beauty and character with each passing hole.

Chiang Mai Highlands has a superbly maintained practice facility including several practice greens, a short game area and a 300-yard driving range with grass tees. A restaurant, spa and pro shop are also on site. Overall, Chiang Mai Highlands is one of the best golf experiences in Thailand and a “must-play”.
