About Ghala Golf Club

Located at the foot of the Hajar mountain range the tight valley course, which at times can be unforgiving yet still yield great scores, flows through a beautiful setting of mountainous backdrops and spectacular sea views. The valley setting in a dry riverbed is uniquely Omani, providing narrow fairways that require precision from tee to green. The challenging greens are moderately fast.

Established in 1971, Ghala Golf Club was the first independent golf club in Oman. Starting out as a 9-hole sand course, it is now a challenging par 72 18-hole grass course with a length of 6494 yards. Originally designed by renowned British golfer Bill Longmuir, the iconic course recently went through a major redesign in 2010 that was carried out by Dellanzo Group in collaboration with landscape designer Beatrice Franceschi.

Golfscape recently ranked Ghala Golf Club among the top 100 golf courses in the world for 2019.

Ghala Golf Club offers a brand new fully-sized club house, pro shop, driving range, restaurant, outside terrace and entertainment lawn, showers and changing facilities, as well as chipping and putting facilities. The licensed clubhouse boasts panoramic views over the 9th, 15th and 18th holes.
