About Emirates Golf Club (Faldo)

The Faldo Course is one of two 18-hole championship courses at Emirates Golf Club, which also offers a nine-hole, par-3 course. The second championship golf course opened in 1996 as ‘The Wadi’, the Arabic word for ‘valley’. In 2005, golf legend Nick Faldo redesigned the course and created a layout that incorporates his trademark tees and bunkers with the naturally rugged terrain to create a visually stunning design. The course was then reopened in 2006 with the new name of ‘The Faldo’ and proved to be a worthy partner for the much-loved Majlis course.

The Faldo has dramatic bunkering on show all the way from tee to green, and 14 cleverly positioned lakes protect the spacious fairways and large greens. The latter are fast and heavily contoured with several breaks of various sizes. Accuracy and course management (a key to Nick Faldo’s designs) are important to score well on this course.

The Faldo is currently the only 18-hole course in the region to offer “nightclubbing” (floodlit golf).
